Tremendous Twenty - NHL Power Rankings

Time sure does fly in the sports world, as we're now almost three months into the NHL Season. There has been quite a bit of shuffling in the Power Rankings, as the Ducks now hold the top spot, with the Penguins slipping to number three. I blame the mumps for the Penguins fall, it seems as though every player on that team has, or will have it eventually this season. While the Top 10 has remained relatively the same, there are a few teams that have fallen drastically in rankings. The Flames for example, dropped eight spots, from 10th to 18th, which was the biggest mover this time around. The league's parity is shown in my rankings, as there as 10 teams from both the Eastern and Western Conferences. With the point system in the NHL, the rankings shuffle almost daily, so make sure to check back often to see the updated rankings each week. Here's how the Tremendous Twenty stack up heading into the month of January:

1. Anaheim Ducks (24-8-6, 54 pts)

2. Chicago Blackhawks (24-10-2, 50 pts)

3. Pittsburgh Penguins (22-8-5, 49 pts)

4. Nashville Predators (23-9-2, 48 pts)

5. New York Islanders (23-11-1, 47 pts)

6. Tampa Bay Lightning (22-11-4, 48 pts)

7. St. Louis Blues (21-11-3, 45 pts)

8. Montreal Canadiens (22-11-2, 46 pts)

Superior Sixteen - NBA Power Rankings

We're now nearly two months into the NBA season, and it's been about three weeks since I last updated my Power Rankings. The Warriors once again remain in the top spot, but other than that the rankings have completely changed since my last update. While the season is still very young, teams are starting to cement themselves as either a playoff team, or a team building for next year and the future. The West is once again the dominating conference, as there are 10 teams in the Superior Sixteen, and only 6 teams from the East. The rankings constantly shuffle throughout the season though, so continue to check back to see the updated Power Rankings. Here's how the teams stack up heading into the month of January:

1. Golden State Warriors (23-5)

2. Portland Trail Blazers (24-7)

3. Memphis Grizzlies (22-8)

4. Toronto Raptors (23-7)

5. Houston Rockets (21-7)

6. Atlanta Hawks (22-8)

7. Chicago Bulls (21-9)

8. Dallas Mavericks (21-10)

10. Los Angeles Clippers (20-11)

11. Cleveland Cavaliers (18-11)

12. San Antonio Spurs (18-13)

13. Phoenix Suns (17-14)

Fierce Fifteen - Week 17 NFL Power Rankings

Week 16 was quite a wild one in the NFL, and it shuffled the rankings quite a bit. A few playoff teams suffered losses that effected the standings, and other teams gave themselves a continued chance heading into the final week of the season. The Rankings shuffled once again, and Week 16 also set up three big matchups for Division Titles; NFC South, NFC North, and the AFC North. The path in the AFC now officially has to go through the Patriots, with the road in the NFC looks like it'll once again have to go through Seattle. There's still one more week remaining however, which could and should once again shuffle the rankings heading into the Playoffs. Here's how the Fierce Fifteen stack up heading into Week 17:

1. New England Patriots (12-3)

2. Seattle Seahawks (11-4)

3. Denver Broncos (11-4)

4. Green Bay Packers (11-4)

5. Dallas Bowboys (11-4)

6. Detroit Lions (11-4)

7. Cincinnati Bengals (10-4-1)

8. Arizona Cardinals (11-4)

9. Indianapolis Colts (10-5)

10. Pittsburgh Steelers (10-5)

11. Philadelphia Eagles (9-6)

12. San Diego Chargers (9-6)

13. Baltimore Ravens (9-6)

14. Kansas City Chiefs (8-7)

15. Houston Texans (8-7)

Week 16 Picks Against The Spread

Another solid week for myself personally, as I went 10-6 in Week 15. Fierce Fifteen - Week 16 NFL Power Rankings

It was all about the defense in Week 15, as nearly every game had both teams scoring under 25 points. This usually means less excitement, and some would argue that's exactly how it unfolded, but who doesn't like great defense? The NFL these days is all about offense, so when there's one week during the season where the defense dominates, then why not appreciate it and soak it in. Great defense is exactly what the Packers ran into this past week , and there were a few other 'potential' playoff teams that lost, which will shuffle the rankings heading into Week 16. In saying that, here's how the Fierce Fifteen stack up this week:

1. New England Patriots (11-3)

2. Denver Broncos (11-3)

3. Seattle Seahawks (10-4)

4. Green Bay Packers (10-4)

5. Arizona Cardinals (11-3)

6. Indianapolis Colts (10-4)

7. Detroit Lions (10-4)

8. Dallas Cowboys (10-4)

9. Cincinnati Bengals (9-4-1)

10. Philadelphia Eagles (9-5)

11. Pittsburgh Steelers (9-5)

12. Baltimore Ravens (9-5)

13. Kansas City Chiefs (8-6)

14. Buffalo Bills (8-6)

15. San Diego Chargers (8-6)

Fierce Fifteen - Week 14 NFL Power Rankings

Week 13 was the week of offense. There were more points scored this past week, than any week so far this season. Nearly every team, with the exception of a handful, scored almost 20 points last week. There were a few offensive shootouts, as well as some blowouts that weren't even TV worthy. The results definitely shuffled the rankings this week, with the Packers now claiming the top spot. With five 9-3 teams, and so many good teams overall, the home stretch of the season is going to be one for the memory books. Week 14 has a slate of solid games, as well as a few that could have major playoff implications. Here's how the teams stack up heading into this week:

1. Green Bay Packers (9-3)

2. New England Patriots (9-3)
